It does not get any better than what we just witnessed at the 2021 Ryder Cup for Team USA fan. All the questions, comments, and concerns about the young American Ryder Cup team were thrown out the window by the end of Sunday. The record breaking 19-9 win over Team Europe captured the Ryder Cup for the Americans in dramatic fashion. Heading into the week there were many questions about whether the six American rookies would be able to perform during their debut Ryder Cup outings, and their response was 14-4-3. As if winning the Ryder Cup was not enough, the youth of Team USA now leads us to believe the performance at Whistling Straits will be one we can look forward to for several Ryder Cup’s to come. Europe on the other hand has some work to do; Father Time seems to have finally run its course for several of the European players. Sergio Garcia was one of the few elder statesmen on the European side to consistently capture points in each match, however he was partnered with world number one Jon Rahm. If there is one point to take away from the 2021 Ryder Cup for European fans it would be that Jon Rahm is, without question, the best player on the planet right now, and it is not even close. Rahm tallied 3.5 points in 5 matches this week, only losing his singles match against a red-hot Scottie Scheffler. His performance was truly incredible.

For the American side, captain Steve Stricker did an amazing job at pairing the right players at the right time this week. We saw powerful partnerships in Dustin Johnson and Collin Morikawa, Bryson DeChambeau and Scottie Scheffler, as well as Xander Schauffele and Patrick Cantlay. As a quick side note, what a couple months Xander Schauffele has had for the United States of America. He is now an Olympic gold medalist and a Ryder Cup winner. Somehow, Steve Stricker was even able to bring together the archenemies, Bryson DeChambeau and Brooks Koepka. At one point the two asked captain Stricker to be paired together, much to the surprise of the golf world. Bryson DeChambeau, without a doubt, won fan favorite this week for the American fans. His typical questionable behavior around other players went out the window during the Ryder Cup and he embraced everything the tournament has to offer. It was great to see all the US players come together and play as a unit.

After a rollercoaster ride to finally play the 2020/2021 Ryder Cup, American fans around the world were graced with the most remarkable performance we have ever seen. This Ryder Cup presented everything fans and players look for in team golf as well as the representation of the country as a whole. We cannot wait for the next one. USA! USA! USA!
